Stoffelen niet in IGI Asperden;

A descendant of Theodora Stoffelen Peters contacted one Franz Gommans, a genealogist in Gaesdoncker Str. 230 West Germany in 1986. He did extensive searches in archives at Ottersum and Asperden.
Theodora Stoffelen is recorded to have been born in the Province of Limberg, Holland. Her spouse, Jacob Peters was born in the town of Kranenberg. They came to USA in 1858. It was this same period of time that my great, great grandfather Joahnn Heinrich Stoffelen(Stoffels) arrived in Wisconsin.
Until I made contact with the Peters descendant just two years ago, they were unaware that Theodora's brother (my grgrfa) came to America.
These are some of my ancestors in Europe:
Johannes Rutten married Elizabeth Melzen in Kessel, Netherlands. (abt 1691-1715), dau Christina Rutten (b. abt 1734, d. Jan 31, 1816) in Kessel, married one Johann Stoffelen (XX) (b. 1733 in Ottersum. Son Gerardus (b. Aug 29, 1766 d. aft 1819)
He married Johanna Petronella Reintjes (b. June 8, 1769 d. Aug 1835)
Their son Johannes Heinrich Stoffelen/Stoffels b. Maar 9, 1803 in Hommersum, Holland (W. Prussia), married June 16, 1828 to Henrianna Van Eyck. He died July 21, 1964 in Barton, Washington Co., WI (USA) His dau Gertrude married Martin John Gerhard/Gayhart.
(XX)Parents of Johann (1733) were Gerhard Stoffelen(WFT Est 1682-1711) and Derris Jaspers(WFT Est 1691-1714.
My Van Eyck line also from Netherlands record surnames as: Gossens, Rullen, Van Wickeren, Jansen.
Stoffelen line: Reintjes, Coenen, Hoenselaers, Tonnissen, Van Den Berg, Wolters and Holtermans.
Hope you can sort this out and make some relationship connections.
Can't lay my hands on the entry, but the two eldest daughters of Johannes H. Stoffelen/Stoffels, namely Marguarite and Petronella married, one to Von Ipsum or Issen.
Good Hunting. Margaretta

Message Board Post:

I have connections to a Limberg Rutten family. Christina Rutten married Johann Stoffelen on January 1756 in St. Stephnus Catholic Church in Kessel/Niers. She was the dau of Johannes Rutten and Elizabeth Melzen. Christina was born about 1734 in Ottersum, Province of Limberg, Holland and died January 31, 1816 in Kessel, Netherlands at age 82 years old. They were the parents of eight children. Other surnames in my Dutch ancestry: Van Den Berg, Reintjes, Jaspers, Jansen, Peters, Derks, Gossens, Van Eyck. Another Rutten given name was Aleida as listed as a baptismal sponsor for Ruttger Stoffelen in June 1770 in Kessel.
I hope this ties in with your family tree.
I can be reached by my e-mail address.
